Recording of a slalom training session in Val d’Isère

Val d'Isere

From now on, every ski trip, I get in the habit of launching the Skitude app and recording each of my ski outings so then I can make the most of the large number of statistics available to me.

This time I took the opportunity to record for the first time a session of slalom training at Legettaz stadium (Légette for those in the know) with the ski club Stade Français. And this is where I discovered an even greater benefit of using the app.

After each session, either on the computer or on the mobile, you get to see all the information relevant to the session as can be seen below with screenshots from my mobile:

What interests me here is how many runs I did (almost 30), how long it lasted and the total distance traveled. As I have always traveled the same route, the curves are very much the same.

When I look on my computer, I have access to even more details and I can see the max speed of each run. This is a good indicator because I can see how I progress or regress and I can detect when fatigue sets in.

I can also take pictures during the trip and these are integrated into the map, showing where they were taken. This photo reminds me of the difficult conditions that day!

Conditions meant that we were unable to train on the last day. We instead did some simple turns between the trees. The chart here is really different from the first one since we took different free-riding routes, with a lot of variations in speed.

It was a great way to end this weekend of training anyway. And with the app Skitude, I have a tool that allows me to compare my outputs; to have complete stats on a ski season. As I live more than 700km from the mountain, I often go back to see the pictures in the gallery when I miss the snow. Or I wait and watch the exit photos at the ski resorts.

The last pictures in my gallery and where they are on the map:

See you soon Val d’Isère and the mountains. Thank you Skitude :)
