During the past ski season, skiers faced various challenges through the Chile Esquí, Cerro Castor and Valle Nevado mobile applications.By using the activity tracker tool or the geophoto feature, skiers could have won action cameras, tactile gloves, season passes and other great prizes.
Skiers could participate in various challenges to win amazing prizes through the applications developed by Skitude, the gamification and monitoring platform of snow and mountain activity. These apps offer real-time information of the ski centers, and also give access to the My Skitude platform, where users register, store and share their snow activities.
Skitude organized two challenges this season. Snow Hero which was won by the skier who skied the most during the season, and Snow Snap which was won by the skier with the best photo that represented their passion for snow.
The user Gafkazama, with more than 70.7 kilometers, won a GoPro Hero through the Snow Hero challenge. This drawing was between the top 20 skiers who skied the most during the season. Between all the users who participated in this challenge, they accumulated more than 2,500 kilometers skied. View the final challenge rankings by clicking on this link.
The winner Snow Snap was given a pair of Helly Hansen tactile gloves, and they belong to jlacastillon. The photo was taken with the Chile Esquí en Nevados de Chillán application during a huge snow fall. The photographer showed how true their passion for snow was by skiing in such conditions.
In addition to Skitude sponsored challenges, skiers also participated in challenges promoted by the Valle Nevado and Lagunillas ski resorts.
Valle Nevado organized two challenges, the Best Performance, prizes given to the top three skiers with the most kilometers tracked, and then the Biggest Enthusiast, prizes given to the top three skiers with the most days skied. For each challenge, all of the winners won a resort day pass and then the first prize winner received a parka, the second prize got sweatshirt and third prize was a hat.
Lastly, Lagunillas ski resort also organized a challenge, the Snow Lagunillas, to reward the skier with the most distance skied in their resort. The winner received a 2016 Lagunillas season pass.
